I love decorating for the Christmas Season.  I have ornaments and decorations that are 30 years old or more.  At least 75% of my tree is covered by hand-made items that either I made or someone else did and gave them to me.

My mother-in-law used to paint china and one year she painted all the cute little mice in stockings, in gift boxes, hanging from the moon, etc.  They are precious to me since we no longer have her.

About 10 years ago, I bought a bunch of ceramic ornaments for all my mother’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren to paint.  They presented them to her at her annual tree trimming party.  She was so touched.  They don’t look professional but they are colorful and made with love.

I think the theme Christmas trees are beautiful and have always thought I would start collecting ornaments for on for a change.  The color coordination, the themes of angels or birds or sports or patriotic or ballet like the Nutcracker and others are gorgeous.  I just can’t let go of my treasures.

Now my grandchildren help me put up my decorations and I try to tell them about the ornaments.  Maybe someday they will treasure them, too.  What ever you do, make it magical.
